Troubleshooting

Why circâre doesn't start when I click on the Applications->Circare icon?

Usually that means tracker indexer is not properly started/configured before you start circâre. Be sure to start tracker indexer in your session before circâre.

Starting circâre from the command line gives this error dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.Tracker was not provided by any .service files

Usually that means tracker indexer is not properly started/configured before you start circâre. Be sure to start tracker indexer in your session before circâre.

Advanced search query's doesn't give any results.

Most files originally don't have metadata fields correctly filled. For example, imagine you have a PDF ebook file with "The Capital" by Karl Marx but this file doesn't have the author metadata correctly filled. In this case Tracker(and by the way Circâre) is not able to identify who is the author of that file, so, it will not appear in a RDF search for the author "Karl Marx". Try to edit by yourself the author metadata field for this file using the circâre interface (or any other tracker based tool), if you do it the file will appear as a result to your RDF query's. To have a well metadata described archive could be a hard task as it must be done by humans and usually one file by one.

The Tag Graph is empty

You don't have any file tagged in your tracker indexed files. Try to add some tags to your files using the circâre interface (or any other tracker based tool), if you do it the tag graph will show that tags the next time you start circâre. Remember the tag graph is constructed once when the circâre application is started.

The Tag Graph only shows few of the tags i'm using in my files

This is a known issue. For now the Tag Graph shows only 15 tags because a limit in the application performance. Next versions of circâre will solve this limitation or either allow the user to specify the number of nodes of the graph.
